Instructions for downloading eUTV to FireStick

Installing the eUTV APK on your Amazon FireStick

We will now go through the instructions to sideload the eUTV APK on your FireStick. When we sideload an app, it means the app is not present in the Amazon Store.

The very first thing you want to do is install the Downloader app on your FireStick. You need the Downloader app to sideload apps onto your FireStick. You can’t download the APK directly from a browser onto the firestick.

Now, in order to install apps with Downloader, you need to change the security settings of your FireStick.

Notice: When using a mobile screen to access this information, you can pinch out any of the images to view better.

Here we go …

Open your firestick home-screen and click Find in the middle (see image below).

Note: If you are still using the old version of FireStick, select the lens icon in the top-left corner.

Now click Search.

Start typing in the word download and the Downloader app should appear in the list below.

Select it in the search results and then click on Get or Download to install it on your device.

Now this should take you back to the home screen, once there click Settings (the gear icon) on the far right of the screen.

Note: If you are still using the old version of FireStick, select the Settings tab at the top-right.

Click My Fire TV.

Next, choose Developer options. Note: if you DO NOT see Developer Options on this screen), Click the center button on your Fire TV Stick quickly, 7 times.

You will see a notification at the bottom saying no need, you are already a developer. Then the developer options menu should be present. Click on the Developer options menu.

Click Install unknown apps.

Note: If you are still using the old version of FireStick, click Apps from Unknown Sources and turn it ON. You can skip the next step below.

Turn ON the option for Downloader.

This will complete the unlocking (or commonly referred to as jailbreaking), part of the device setup. And, yes, it is perfectly legal to do. Amazon would prefer you stay in their Appstore, but you are free to use other apps on your Firestick.  

Open Privacy Settings

Turn OFF the following options to stop sharing the usage data after you jailbreak Fire Stick in the Privacy Settings

• Device Usage Data

• Collect App Usage Data

Press the back button one time. You should now be back to the Preferences window

Click Data Monitoring

Now, turn OFF Data Monitoring on the next screen.

DONE!

Now we can get started with the core installation instructions.

Now open the Downloader App

Note: Can’t locate the Downloader app? The easiest way of finding all the apps installed on your Amazon Fire TV Stick is to long press the center button. Then just wait to see all the installed apps displayed on your TV. Alternatively, you can go to “Settings” and then navigate to “Applications.”

(Notice that the Downloader App can also be opened or launched with the Home tab selected by default).

Once the Downloaded App is open, navigate to the URL field in the middle, above the Go Button, where it shows http:// and click in that area.

The window that pops up allows you to enter the source URL (or address), of the APK using the on-screen keyboard. We have two new lighter APK downloads and you must download the APK specific for your membership into the downloader or you will have to come back and download the correct APK, they are as followers …

Type in one of the above URL locations to access the correct APK and click GO.

Caution: use the APK specific to your membership, or your username and password will NOT work!

The next window will display Downloader connecting to the server and downloading the APK file onto your FireStick device. Let the download complete …

The installation will initiate on its own. On the following screen, use your remote’s navigation keys to select the NEXT button at the bottom right.  Note: The NEXT button may be replaced with an INSTALL button. Click the NEXT button and then the INSTALL button, if required.

Note: the eUTV logo in the top left may be different than what’s shown here.

Your FireStick will begin to install the eUTV APK file you just downloaded, give the process a couple of minutes to complete …

When your FireStick has finally installed your APK file, you will be notified with the following window. You can click OPEN and launch the app right from this window, BUT we highly recommend clicking the DONE button, so you can delete the (no longer required), file that will just take up space.

Clicking DONE in the previous step takes you to the Downloader app, where you will see the following prompt. Highlight Delete using your remote and click it. You want to delete the eUTV APK from the FireStick because the file is of no use after the app installation is complete. Erasing the file will save you some space in your FireStick’s storage.

Click Delete another time to finally delete the catvplus or livtv APK file.

Great, you have successfully installed the chosen APK onto your FireStick. You will see one of the two icons below, depending on which membership you joined with.

Click on the icon to start the App.

The next instructions are for finalizing the CATV+ App startup.

You can check the box that says Don’t ask again, or leave it blank for now, then click on either deny or allow buttons below.

You will then be brought to the following page to log in.

Enter your login details you received from your setup email we sent you.

Congratulations, you can now start using your CATV+ app.

Click on the LIVTV icon to bring up the next window. 

You can check the box that says Don’t ask again, or leave it blank for now, then click on either deny or allow buttons below.

You will then be brought to the following page to log in. Enter your login details you received from your setup email we sent you.

Congratulations, you can now start using your LIVTV app.
